Nokia to cut 7,000 jobs, stop developing Symbian operating system
Nokia is cutting 4,000 jobs worldwide by 2012 in a move that will also result in its Symbian mobile operating system being taken over by the outsourcing firm Accenture. The Finnish phone maker said Wednesday, in announcing the jobs cuts, that the desicions should reduce its operating expenses by $1.47 billion in the year 2013, when compared to 2010.
